Automating the Development of Multilingual Grammars   

The talks presents several techniques employed for enhancing GF grammar development, ranging from building grammars from structured models to deriving GF bilingual lexica from SMT phrase tables and combining external resources(Google Translate, native speakers) for developing concrete grammars. New directions for multilingual grammar testing will also be discussed.

A Frame Semantic Abstraction Layer to GF Resource Grammar Library   

A fundamental component of Grammatical Framework (GF) is the multilingual Resource Grammar Library (RGL) that encapsulates the low-level linguistic knowledge. Porting a GF application grammar to a new language ideally requires only introducing a domain lexicon. Specifying a lexicon is mostly straightforward for nouns and NPs, however, specifying verbs and VPs can be a complex task. In this talk, we will focus on verbs and VPs considering a potential frame semantic abstraction layer to RGL.

Reversible Stochastic Attribute-Value Grammars   

In this talk, I will present Reversible Stochastic Attribute-Value Grammars, a proposal that extends attribute-value grammars with a single maximum entropy model that performs parse disambiguation and fluency ranking. I will show, using experiments with the Alpino grammar for Dutch, that reversible model does not perform significantly different than specialized for parse disambiguation and fluency ranking.

A Dynamic Deontic Logic for reasoning about Electronic Contracts   

We present an action-based formal language called CL for abstract specification of electronic contracts. The purpose of the language is to be used in the electronic environment to reason about contracts. CL combines the normative notions of obligation, permission, and prohibition from deontic logic with the action modality of propositional dynamic logic. The deontic modalities are applied only over actions, thus following the ought-to-do approach.
